Driverless Cars Could Mean Cheaper Insurance
Driverless cars can: Turn the steering wheel, brake at appropriate times, parallel park in a tight space as well as may other things all whilst you sit back and watch. Did you know however that driver less cars may reduce you insurance costs?
According to a recent survey 90% of car crashes are due to human error and therefore because of the safety of driverless cars this percentage will drastically reduce also absolving drivers from liability for accidents. Robert Hartwig, president of the Insurance Information Institute says “It’s possible that more of the liability will shift to the manufacturer.”
Industry experts have revealed that not until 2025 will driver less cars hit the roads in the mainstream however in 2013 Google released a video of its self-driving car project showing the possibilities of driverless cars in the future with a prototype.
Therefore it seems insurance costs will decrease in the future because of the introduction of driverless cars however the topic is still under hot debate and therefore no decisions will be made until the cars start appearing on our roads.
