A helping hand for Hazel Oak School
Arthur Marsh & The B90 Network help establish their chosen charity’s outdoor woodland area.
Hazel Oak is an all age special school for children with moderate learning difficulties, many of whom are on the autistic spectrum. It was decided at the start of 2015 that Arthur Marsh and the B90 Network would support the school for the year through sponsorship, local work experience placements and giving a helping hand on days like this.
The children of Hazel Oak School, used Umberslade Farm as an outdoor classroom, however part of the farm was sold off and is no longer available to use. Donna Cleaver, the schools head fundraiser and work experience coordinator saw an opportunity to create a woodland area on a disused piece of land at the school behind the sixth form building.
The 1st phase took place on 2nd of September with our very own Jack spending the day at the school, along with other B90 members. The 2nd and final stage of the project will take place on 26th September….watch this space!!
